.....::The Election Project
During class, the elections of 2012 were happening, so we dedicated a whole project to informing the public and the school of the wiser choice to make when it came to voting, and why voting was so important. We held school-wide debates between our two classes, and even a voter info night which Bob Filner had attended.
Two classes were assigned one of the presidential candidates -- it came down to the two main candidates, of course, the Democratic Barack Obama and the Republican Mitt Romney. Our class had gotten Obama. We dedicated hours to making posters, propaganda, buttons and the like to promote Obama and get people to vote for them. We made videos, and researched about certain subjects that were main debate topics. This was a collaborative project between most all of our classes -- it was mainly in History for it was a major event in the history of the United States, but we took school-wide polls in Math, and researched about the immigration issue in Spanish. With the results of the poll in Math Class, we determined which subjects would be debated in front of the school.
Everyone participated in making propaganda. I made various comics and a video that was shown on the projector and even sent to the Obama Administration.

Some pictures of my comics and posters I made.
The first two are Romney Attack comics -- while in fact the team was not to be completely biased against the Romney team, I was assisting the Opposition crew. I particularly attacked memorable moments during the presidential and vice presidential debates, that I thought people would laugh at. My comics were quite effective! The other two were posters I made to support our cause. Gay marriage was my main topic, and everyone in the Creative team was to make a poster on immigration during Spanish. |
This is the video that I made to quickly inform people of Obama's plans for the future.
In the end, Mitt Romney won the election. We did it electoral college voting style, in which the teachers were the electoral college. Romney won by one, but Obama had the popular vote among the students, winning by a landslide.
